November 27 marks the start of AWS reInvent 2017, Amazon Web Service’s annual cloud computing conference. Running five days, AWS re:Invent offers a huge selection of content and learning opportunities spread across the Las Vegas strip.

Below, we’ve highlighted some key features of the conference along with resources that will help you get the most from the week.

Breakout Content

This year, AWS re:Invent is offering over 600 breakout sessions covering AWS topics, best practices, and case studies. Breakouts are delivered in four formats – sessions, workshops, chalk talks, and skills sessions – at three levels of understanding, so there is sure to be something of interest for all levels of cloud computing professionals and decision makers. Check out the full session catalogue for details on the sessions available at AWS re:Invent 2017.

Training and Certification

AWS re:Invent also offers a wide array of other learning and certification opportunities for you to explore.

Bootcamps are in-depth sessions being offered during the first four days of the conference. Register and pay for these half-day and full-day events through your AWS re:Invent account.

Bootcamps come in three varieties:

Technical bootcamps

Technical bootcamps cover introductory, intermediate, and advanced topics using AWS services.

Partner bootcamps

Exclusive bootcamps are offered to members of the AWS Partner Network (APN). Partners are also invited to the Global Partner Summit on November 27 and 28 at the MGM Grand.

AWS Certification Exam Readiness Bootcamp

These bootcamps offer preparation for the various AWS certification exams.

Hands-on labs

This year’s conference offers over 100 hands-on labs sessions, allowing you to explore an AWS-related topic in a live environment. These labs are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis, so arrive early!

AWS Certification

Certification exams run all week at the AWS Certification Exam Testing Center.

Beyond the breakout content, training, and certification opportunities, AWS re:Invent also features hackathons, demos, the Deep Learning Summit, and the perennial keynote address by Andy Jassy, CEO of Amazon Web Services. Take a break from the technical topics with various fun activities, or supercharge your learning with a boost of energy from the 4K run, Spinning Challenge, and Fitness Bootcamps.

Getting ready and staying organised

AWS has released a useful webinar, 2017 Know Before You Go, covering all the information you need to prepare for the event.

Once you’re there, stay organised and navigate the conference with ease using the AWS re:Invent mobile app, available for Android and iOS.

Can’t make it to Las Vegas? AWS will be streaming announcements, demos, and interviews all week on their Twitch channel. Livestreams of keynote addresses will also be available with registration.
