All the way to the cloud: AWS Online Summit
This year's edition for the AWS Summit EMEA has been entirely virtual, highlighting the importance of cloud computing technology and resources to transform businesses. It was the perfect opportunity to bring together a wide range of specialists who, through customer success stories or the development and implementation of cloud architectures, explained the advantages and keys to accelerating the adoption of the cloud through flexible and scalable solutions.
Among the different areas of the AWS Online Summit we could find more than 55 sessions, a skills area and practical labs, resource center, virtual booths of partners and areas of questions to experts, all addressed to new cloud and experienced users.
As part of Linke's participation, we presented our client Madrileña Red de Gas, and their journey migrating SAP systems and their entire Data Centre to AWS with great results. In fact, it is now a reference as a success story when talking about migration initiatives, an increasingly common choice for companies seeking efficiency and agility of their data centers and workloads.
Madrileña Red de Gas: improved performance through cloud
A highlighted session was the presentation of "Migrate your enterprise applications to the cloud" which had a special focus on the migration of workloads and SAP applications to the AWS cloud. Therefore, an essential element of the session was the presentation of the MRG case study and the migration of its entire data center and SAP applications.
The migration allowed the company to enjoy the benefits of a platform with maximum guarantees without the need for large investments in infrastructure. Secondly, they enjoy the convenience and security of data management by an IT expert company such as Linke. In just three months, 80% of the process had been completed, concluding soon after with other applications (including SAP Utilities, SAP Business Objects BI and SAP ERP) of more complex architecture.
