AWS Europe Region Stockholm

Customers from all business sectors and public sector like education and government are now able to run applications, serve users with lower latency, and use advanced technologies like Edge Computing, SaaS, PaaS, and more, in Sweden.

AWS has invested over the years in the Nordic regions by opening up offices in Espoo, Oslo, Helsinki, Copenhagen, and Stockholm. A new infrastructure Region that has 3 availability zones is an additional set of resources to the Edge Network locations that are in Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Denmark.

The goal of Amazon Web Services technologies is to influence the entrepreneurship region in the Nordic area and to help enterprises that are going to develop in the next generation. If we look back to 2013, Amazon started an Activate Program that was tasked to allow startups to have a one-on-one session with experts from Amazon Web Services. In addition, startups were able to access customer support, third-party apps, self-paced labs, online-training, and a no-charge Amazon service credits that goes up to $100,000.

Later on in 2018, Amazon set-up a co-working space for Nordic enterprises to have access to business experts and technology for the growth of their companies. Other players that have boarded the bandwagon include incubators, startup accelerators, and the venture capital community, to help startups utilize the cloud infrastructure. Some of the partnering companies that Amazon is working with to support startups include Creandum, Atomico, SUP46, Northzone, and EQT Venture Nordic Makers.

Some of the companies that are moving their mission-critical applications to the AWS Region Cloud include XXL, Tine SA, TopDanmark, Husqvarna, Unibet, WirelessCar, and many more. Gaming companies and some of the most successful Nordic startups are also migrating their workloads to the cloud.
